And Uber flagged the program as likely fraud, supposedly because usage rates and speed were high (which is interesting if you think about what that says about other Uber Eats promotions).

And, it’s possible they’ll be getting sued by insurance companies - and insurance companies are some of the most ruthless litigants who have lots of cash and will hire lawyers across jurisdictions looking for any opportunity or loophole they can.
Customers didn’t get this Uber Eats offer.
The sad truth is that all of the products in that class have had terrible incidents in their past.
Also, congrats on moving the goalposts.
Was really just commenting on how ridiculous it is to send someone a $10 gift card after an incident of this severity. A genuine apology would've been enough, or if they really wanted to make amends, a non-trivial credit towards future costs would be more sincere. $10 is just insulting.
In much smaller orgs, we've had much poorer vendors buy the whole office pizza or some such, and that was just a casual thank-you, not even any sort of major fuck-up. In my current company (a SaaS), we do occasionally fuck up and we issue credits worth way more than that.
I mean, $10 literally isn't even enough to pay for a meal on UberEats in many cities...
CrowdStrike partners literally get paid to deal with cybersecurity incidents like this one. That’s why they have jobs.
$5 value is $5 more than $0.
