Ask HN: What are distribution channels do you use for your API?

Every company and every startup nowadays have API. Some are just internal added-value services which could be a new business, some are build as a business from ground up. My question is: what are the distribution channels for your APIs? Do you just do a website like dev.mystartup.com or promote them somehow else?
