Ask HN: Porcelain online side-hustle possible?
I have a large collection of dishware (not the most valuable, but many different sets) and I was thinking about starting a side-hustle selling/buying porcelain online with this as a base. I'd love to hear your experiences and advice on the following points:
1. Which platforms are best suited for this? Do you have recommendations for platforms like eBay, Etsy, Amazon, or niche platforms specifically for dishware and porcelain?
2. Any experience in the porcelain market? How can I gain experience and become more knowledgeable?
3. How would you approach getting started? Any important legal or logistical considerations to keep in mind from the beginning?
4. Storage and shipping: How do you manage storing a large amount of dishware to ensure it doesn’t get damaged? Any tips for safely and cost-effectively shipping fragile items?
5. Experiences and pitfalls: What mistakes have you made or seen that should be avoided?
I know this is not the typical question for this community, but I am always surprised at how broad the knowledge in the HN community is. Looking forward to your responses!
