Eventually maybe possibly we'll see some with Coreboot support, which would hopefully help. And hopefully AMD will make good on its word & OpenSIL will become a viable replacement for the binary initialization packages. There's already significant progress getting Framework booting on Coreboot, hopefully this can help set the trend. With hope, this would let users maintain these systems & keep them up to date. https://www.phoronix.com/news/Framework-13-AMD-Coreboot-WIP https://doc.coreboot.org/soc/amd/family17h.html
I'm crazy excited to see a war for better cooling. USB-PD created such amazing pressure to make chargers better. Ideally we can measure & assess cooling similarly, see market competition for better cooling keep evolving. We need review sites to be measuring thermals & noise closely creating comparison pages to get beyond marketing speak, where we're not really sure what we're getting. Fingers crossed.
Depends on what you want. If you're looking for bang for the buck, mini PCs in NUC footprint, with oomph that can play some games too are terrible at that. They'll cost you nearly as much as a budget gaming laptop from Lenovo using the same APU and that come with a screen, keyboard and touchpad as bonus. For value/money, standard ATX size PCs rule.
