Reminiscent of the tiny autonomous drones with shaped charges that could kill people in Slaughterbots.

The drone in TFA's cover photo looks like a hunter seeker from the latest Dune movies.

There's more specs here: https://fpv.bg/article?eid=15

It costs $200,000...

Here's a Teledyne demo/commercial video that shows the FLIR Black Hornet 3 in action:

Is it really that quiet?

A practical use for Apple Vision Pro? Soldiers on a breaching team each with headsets, each seeing a real time overlay of X-ray walls and the locations of the people behind them, as tracked by the drones. I hate that I can visualize this so clearly.

The Army has been testing Microsoft HoloLens devices for applications like this for several years now.

As far as practical Apple Vision Pro uses go, surgeons are using them in interesting ways...

I think some of these (or similarly sized) drones were sent to Ukraine for use in urban warfare last year as a recon tool. They may have also used them for exploring recaptured mines (the kind for extracting resources, not a landmine) which were likely booby trapped.

All they need is a slaughterbot-style shaped charge or a dollop of thermite, phosphorus or a nerve agent and you'd have a weapon that may not be super effective but would have a huge impact on enemy psychology.

Get them acting as a swarm and you've got something really scary.

Yeah, a truckload of drones kinda gets scary inversely proportional to drone volume. Bee drones whose "sting" shorts out a gram of lithium battery could swarm & incinerate anything from a person to a swath of homes.

Training with these is is only half of the work. They are so small and cheap that we can expect that any enemy will have access to them too.

Someone link the fictional book of future countries with borders enforced by nano-bots, please.

_The Diamond Age_, Neal Stephenson, I believe.
