What does it look like?

Seems absurd to advertise a product you can't see until you sign up.

And where is the repo?

I will definitely put a sample blog on the landing page. You can sign up to take a look it's completely free. The repo is in the footer of the landing page.

Repo: https://github.com/themanafov/nucelo

Hey, this looks fantastic! I really appreciate minimal software that does what it sets out do well without bloat. I noticed that your GitHub README states "Collect Emails: Create your simple mailing list". It just so happens that I just released a tool for completing the next piece in the puzzle by taking those email addresses and automatically sending a notification of your new articles to them in a newsletter (assuming Nucelo supports RSS). Check it out at https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=40898313 if you think it can be of help to you.

I'm glad you liked it. I'll definitely take a look.

Looks polished, but it would be great if there were some screenshots of the actual features, like the editor, etc. Also, if there are ready instructions on self-hosting or even a container, it would be better.

First of all, thank you for the feedback. I will definitely take this into consideration. Self-hosting is currently in my plan.

Could you compare and contrast to BearBlog and Mataroa? Also does the paid plan include some specific capacity for image hosting?

There are no restrictions on image hosting. Only maximum size per upload is 4MB.

Nucelo offers better design than BearBlog and Mataroa. There is a WYSIWYG editor in Notion style as the content editor. With this, you can write format your writing easily. You can also connect your domain and use it as a personal website. You can share your projects and lock them if you would like. There is also a Bookmarks section where you can share the links you find useful and analyze clicks, from which country they were clicked, etc.. However, this will be in the paid plan.

Sounds cool, thanks for explaining! Looking forward to trying it out :)

Bear blogs have full access to styling, with about 50 pre built themes. Take a look at the discovery feed and click through a few blogs:

https://bearblog.dev/discover

Yes that's true. But Nucelo offers a better design than BearBlog's themes. Nucelo will even come with better designs and themes over time.

Added to my list[0] it’s incredible how many blogging alternatives there are out there

You’d think there are enough and yet new ones keep popping up. Well done shipping Nucelo though. Love the design.

Thank you very much. I put great effort into making this product user-friendly.

Regarding Pro pricing should the annual subscription be more than 12x monthly price? I.e $4/month vs $40/year

Yes that is right. When we calculate the annual price with monthly prices, it comes out to $48 per year. I just reduced the price on the annual plan.

Why the super tiny font (on desktop)?

Currently the product is new. It will be resolved over time.

The design is pleasing on the eyes. Nice!

So glad to hear that!

Is there a full site search?

No there's not. But I will consider it.

this is great!

good to hear!
