Why Reddit may seem unwelcoming to new Redditors

Have you seen some of the 'rules' that govern auto-deletion?

One of mine got deleted because there were 'not enough words'. I kid you not.

Perhaps I should have added the first three verses of 'Jabberwocky' to the end of my post to make it turgid enough to keep.

    'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
    Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
    All mimsy were the borogoves,
    And the mome raths outgrabe.

    "Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
    The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
    Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
    The frumious Bandersnatch!"

    He took his vorpal sword in hand:
    Long time the manxome foe he sought—
    So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
    And stood awhile in thought.

This just talks about auto deletion of post in attempts to automate spam/hate control.

Some areas of the site are just unwelcoming to different ideas. I once mentioned athlesuire wear on the men’s fashion sub and got lots of comments like - there is no need for it - that’s stupid Etc

Obviously people have rigid rules and limited experience because there are needs otherwise that type of clothing wouldn’t be growing. It’s hot in the US during summer. I never went back to that area, I found forums are more welcoming to new people and ideas

I’ve deleted my reddit account earlier this year and I have no regret. Reddit has turned into something that’s unusable for me.
