The First Amendment Is Out of Control

Because human editors pick the algorithms. The algorithms are not independent actors, they are concrete implementations of editors' intentions. As someone who writes algorithms-for-editors for food I am painfully aware of that.

Does this article really start “the first amendment was great when it was used for people like me (news organizations) but now others are benefiting? That’s out of control!”

1st amendment is a prohibition on the government. Essentially the government or any authority can never take control; exceptions being extremely niche.

Therefore it's correct for it to be out of control.

The author arguing that this is a problem is someone arguing against civil rights.
