I'm too used to my Firefox with tree-style tabs and Vim controls to go back to a regular layout.

This also makes me a bit of a tab hoarder, though.

I'd say "I'll be keeping an eye on this," but I'm sure there'll be plenty of posts about Ladybird before the alpha even drops, haha.

Tree-style tabs could be a core feature. Maybe this is something you can contribute to the project?

I certainly would consider trying to contribute, but.. After seeing the drama.. Nah. Not here. Not now. Still, happy to see a new browser engine, alongside servo.

What is "the drama"? Are you referring to something besides this announcement?

The drama: https://github.com/LadybirdBrowser/ladybird/blob/master/CONT...

and this comment from awesomekling on their SerenityOS project https://github.com/SerenityOS/serenity/pull/6814

I think Kling's response to the PR is unprofessional. However, there is no reason to start spamming the issue, after three years. Is that the drama?

My conclusion is to continue avoiding sites like X and the so-called "Fediverse".

Ehhh, fediverse is much comfy place. Not without its flaws, but nonetheless comfy. Anyhow, Judging a big place from the actions of few... not exactly reasonable to be honest.

But yeah,I think, it resurfaced, partially to recent, well, Ladybird stuff. Things got on the track, and the train went forward...

I haven’t seen one fediverse server not drowned in anime-avatars and furries. Not one.

Hard pass. And that comes from someone who likes open standards, open protocols, decentralized solutions you can host on your own.

For all its flaws, for content and people, X is infinitely more preferable for most people not into fetishes.
