Ladybird Announcement [video]

Really exciting to see this for Ladybird and I'm glad to see some serious investment in creating a viable browser alternative.

I have to admit I'm a little saddened by the split between SerenityOS and Ladybird, in particular with the dropping of SerenityOS support and changes in policy around inclusion of third-party code.

But I AM excited for the Ladybird project in general.

Great to see another (somewhat?) serious attempt to establish an independent browser. Even moreso when backed by a non-profit.

Can we really say WebKit is funded by Google at this point? They collaborated with Apple in the early days of Chrome, but fully forked it to become Blink many years ago, and now WebKit continues on with a more open contribution landscape than Blink/Chromium - Apple is a core contributor but there’s a bunch of use in embedded as well
