Reminds me of the Trenton sign that also happens to be a welcome to New Jersey from Pennsylvania:

Since the commons is never wrong, I guess I live in Arizona now. Yesterday, I thought I lived in California.

While we're chatting road signs, here's my favorite of all time. Instead of reading as two locations down the same road, it reads as a sort of deep thought on hedging one's bet.

"Historic Life Saving Station Cemetery"

And since some states have an extra photo, the title is 100% wrong. There are over 50 photos for less than 50 states :)

Looks like a lot of the signs are also outdated. Would be cool to see the full history of how the signs evolved over the years.

Nevada's new sign is a lot different than the one shown. Here's the new one: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/p/AF1QipNgQnNQlhV7PDD-q6PZ...

Look at that, California got annexed.

We're called the Jeffersons now. It was a COVID-era compromise to keep the state from splitting in two: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jefferson_%28proposed_Pacific_...

Getting rid of the welcome signs was part of the compromise.

Is Arizona’s sign for California some sort of dig at how folks are leaving the state? lol!

I fixed California, for some reason it was showing the sign for Arizona...

Or, for those wishing to see a more amusing take on welcome signs, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJE0IewAT-Y

Oh Canada!

What's up with putting the governor's name on some of these signs?

When I scrolled through these, Maine made me burst out laughing.

Every other state has 'welcome' or a nice little phrase or picture or design.

Maine is just 'MAINE', minimal effort, right to the point.

It says STATE LINE MAINE. If it were at the southern end of Lake Tahoe crossing into Nevada it would also be informing you of the name of the CDP: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stateline,_Nevada

That's definitely from some minor road crossing from New Hampshire. The highway ones are... well they're not that much more spectacular but they do include either "Vacationland" or "The way life should be".

Not quite right - that’s a back road. This is I95:

Minnesota must really be compensating for something!

Nah, we just like to rub our superiority in the faces of our neighboring states.

As someone currently forced to live in Ohio for work, where the hell does it get off with the slogan "the heart of it all"?

I'm from Ohio and didn't understand it the first time they used it in the 1990s or when they brought it back again last year.

If you scrinch up your eyes, Ohio's shape could be construed as a stylized heart.

I should provide a photo submission - there are some much nicer ones for Wisconsin at the Illinois border.

It's a shame the Indiana one is blurry. I wish I had a better one to put up there.

And it is a bit of a surprise, if driving fast you could mistake it for a USSR Flag :)

There is a Moscow, Indiana after all.

Also Idaho

New Hampshire: Live Free or Die? :)

nice, but some of these are very old!

Update them!
