The author totally mischaracterizes what's going on now. The far right are not in any rebellion against government or institutions: they actually want MORE government and institutions and MORE intrusions into your life: they want the government to put the 10 commandments in school, prohibit abortion and limit birth controls, do drug testing for welfare. They want more protectionism--which is government interfering in trade. They want a stronger military.
Its not a left-right thing anymore. Its authoritarian vs liberalism (classical). People want to give more powers to governments, because they've got problems they can't solve, and they want a government which is powerful enough to solve them.
