I predict that the Starliner in orbit will be abandoned to burn up on descent. And the guys will have to get a lift home on some other spacecraft.
That might solve the headache for the ones in charge: "We'd really like to investigate what went wrong/who screwed up, but we had to let it disintegrate, no choice".
