At this point I'm genuinely starting to wonder if there is some EA/Rationalist offshoot that promotes in addition to making as much money as possible also to have as many children as possible - to maximize the odds of survival of the gene material or whatever...

Elon's father is also notoriously promiscuous and fecund. Inherited personality trait seems the simplest explanation. I'd think wealth is also part of it, but plenty of comparatively poor men father many children with many different women, so there's more to it than that. And wealth cuts both ways--Elon and his father might not have been so wealthy but for their personalities.

Dear Elon,

Get a vasectomy, for your own sake.

Why? Maybe he really wants to have this many children? :)

I'd prefer he get a vasXtomy

You can see them in the latest Everyday Astronaut vid of the Starship factory https://youtu.be/aFqjoCbZ4ik?t=73

At least he is practicing what he preaches.

Are they all boys, are they from Brazil?

Kid hit the jackpot at conception.

I'm glad Musk's sex scandals don't involve island properties owned by Jeffery Epstein (Ahem Bill Gates)

AFAIK Elon or Kimball did not go to the island, but Kimball dated a woman "involved" with Epstein.

Elon Musk is easy to read for anyone who is a Robert Heinlein fan. He is creating his own version of ‘Howard Families’.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Howard_families

[..]The books Time Enough for Love and To Sail Beyond the Sunset tell the stories of two famous Howard Family members: Lazarus Long and his mother, Maureen Johnson. Lazarus Long also appears in The Number of the Beast and The Cat Who Walks Through Walls.[..]

To understand Elon Musk (and predict future trajectory), Stranger In A Strange Land is a good start.

He is a textbook nerdy sci fi loving teenager trapped in an adult’s body. Turns out it’s that not bad for humanity.
