I believe that even Hacker News faces this issue. While some bots might be detected, delving deeper reveals that it's impossible to identify all of them. This challenge is exacerbated by the sophisticated techniques used by bot developers to mimic human behavior, making detection increasingly difficult.

Found the GPT bot
Twitter has been dominated by bots for years. I'm sure >90% of all tweets have been removed after being flagged as coming from bots at this point, and there are still lots of visible bots after all that filtering is done.
The difference now is that it's becoming almost impossible to detect the bots using NLP.
Many people also alleged that a subset of bots are paying to avoid removal. Certainly a nation state can afford a few million a month to ensure their influence campaign is not so disrupted
I'm really not sure what to make of Twitter. When I see some Russian backed influencers on the right and left get 100k likes for some unhinged tweet I'm tempted to dismiss it as all bots. However, I'm sure at least some of it is real, and it seems to affect the thinking of important people, so I'm also worried that I'm underestimating it. But also, I'm not sure how many of the real people are even people I care about. I don't want our Twitter politicians to get influenced a foreign teenager ratioing them. Sometimes I wish we had our own Chinese style great firewall where everyone could be tied to a known identity.
Twitter was a hellscape long before gpt. I haven’t paid it any attention in years now.
Inclined to agree with reddit comments - that looks fake
Almost all big social media platforms have bots. Reddit has a major voting not problem. Here on HN there are voting and flagging bots as well.
HN soon too. You’ll have no idea what comments here are just a subtle deluge of information manipulation.
