Then why is the fanless model, the Air, the cheapest laptop Apple is selling?

I happily pay extra for an MBA (vs an equivalent pc) because there is no fan noise

you pay for the right to feel smug and get thermal throttled if you open up too many chrome tabs.

smug, me? I am a SWE with a MBA and I never get thermal throttled. What am I doing wrong?
