It's become so tribal and bias reinforcing, the internet broke their financial model and they decided to focus on negative, rage inducing content

Sounds about right. I'm not interested to hear about yet another horrible thing that happened somewhere in the world completely out of my control.

I feel like news has evolved. Just like how we went from newspapers to TV and now to social media. now you want to hear a multitude of different opinions rather than the one just being told to you by the TV. also, their reputation is not very good

News was useful when it involved journalists who informed audiences with facts and kept their opinions out of it.

Today propagandists get orders from their corporate/non-profit/government overloads that clickbait frame every issue to affirm the FUD their audience believes.
