Ask HN: What is a good web/SaaS alternative to Adobe lightroom?

Is there one that stores all photos on cloud and let you edit in browser. May be with 20% of most used functionalities of lightroom?

Isn't modern Lightroom "Lightroom CC" already this? I thought it uploads everything to the Adobe Cloud and the app is basically a thin client.

vs the more featureful "Lightroom Classic" desktop app which is local-first and has a bit more power.

Adobe Express is Adobe's move to web/SaaS creative software. You can give that a try. https://www.adobe.com/express/

Thanks! But no, it looks like canva alternative not Lightroom's

> 20% of most used functionalities of lightroom

If you’re in the Apple ecosystem, I find their photo editor decent enough for basic editing.

Same as Google photos, not for professional photography.

OK then I misunderstood it, mainly because you said you only need "20% of most used functionalities of lightroom"...

Google Photos does the basics, especially on their mobile app. All the edits get saved to the cloud.

Google photos is good for general purpose use. Not for professional photography. Where you have to apply stylistic change across a series of photos.

Sure, that's fair, but it wasn't clear which 20% of features you needed. (Not to be argumentative, but just that having details about what you need or don't need might be helpful when looking for alternatives).
