That seems not correct, and it’s citing a Twitter thread so that doesn’t give me confidence. Heat flux is linearly proportional to the temperature delta between inside and outside. Electricity use for cooling is also proportional to heat flux (e.g. a heat pump will move some multiple of the wattage).

But the world's Haves have never needed much more than a hand-wave, to convince themselves that the sufferings of the Have-Nots are some convenient combination of slight, easily avoided, and well-deserved.
