As schools' admissions policies have become less aligned with IQ, employers have realized this and are now seeking high-IQ/performance candidates at other schools.
1. Instead of hiring from only 700 schools, now they hire from 1,500. There about 4000 degree-granting institutions in the US alone.[*]

3. Meritocracy isn't All That. As Reinhold Niebuhr noted, privileged groups define merit as whatever supports their self-interest and work to establish those merits as universal values.
But #3 older than the pyramids, and the only one that matters.
