"Trust us."
It's the typical "for the kids" mantra, that is routinely abused over and over and over again. Not the kids that are abused but the abuse of this kind of language in the terms of service to persecute innocent people. The most telling thing is that they say that this is so they can comply with the law. Of course once they have built a system where they have remote access capabilities then the law can require them to use that access for law enforcement purposes. They could also 100% comply with any law and any subpoena if they did not have access whatsoever. They simply respond we do not have access.
This shows the core problem with building the back doors into the software and devices that we have that the manufacturer can leverage. For all the faults that Apple has they do not and knowingly build in back doors because of this very reason. Although Apple does have a "for the kids" tattletale system that monitors your photos. This routinely reports false positives with little to no repercussions for Apple or the law enforcement who wrongfully investigated and subjected innocent people to duress.
Anyone who falls for this "for the kids" nonsense does not know anything about history and the zealots that are totally fine with destroying lives. Everyone needs to be familiar with the McMartin preschool trials. 6 years of doggedly pursuing people upending and destroying lives in which they considered it a good faith effort. Of course that was lies it's a good faith just like the Spanish Inquisition was done in good faith. 6 years and 15 million spent countless destroyed lives and reputations all charges were dropped. Of course not a single prosecutor was held to account for their misdeeds and their blind zealotry, no expert was held to account for completely utterly failing at their job of being an expert. No one was held to account for misleading the children to make erroneous claims and lead them into making false testimony. People should have ended up in jail for this and it should have started with the prosecutors first going to jail.
