The enormity of MS's Windows Phone shutdown mistake is becoming clear in AI era

MS not having a phone is a mistake. AI has nothing to do with that.

Unless the AI is going to run on the phone, then we have something. But we're not seeing traction in SMALL models that are phone sized. Everyone is going BIGER all the time. And what are you going to put on the phone? A super powered Siri? Is that really a product differentiator?

Someone sniped me for comparing OpenAI to Theranos... Fair. OpenAI and GPT are Segway. Its cool tech, and its useful but its desperate for product market fit.
