Somewhat related, I'm old enough that I remember in grade school when the Ed Roth "Rat Fink" character was introduced, and for some reason kids on the playground would show off their small collections, including a plastic finger ring to which you could snap on a small plastic Rat Fink (so they were interchangeable if you collected more than one). I don't know why grade school kids were fascinated by the monster hot rods, maybe it was just the name and the image that was attractive.
"The Rat Fink Art depicts a green, depraved-looking mouse with bulging, bloodshot eyes, an oversized mouth with yellowed, narrow teeth, and a red T-shirt with yellow “R.F.” on it."
