Some day, AI-generated slop will spark discussion threads with AI agents responding to other AI agents' posts, no human involved whatsover.

Any real Techie(tm) will count themselves lucky to not be involved.

This is some droll trash. And it's being reposted every couple hours. Frag this. https://hn.algolia.com/?query=The%20End%20of%20Software&sort...

Techies are the ones who actually understand how things work & how to design them. Maybe the LLMs will help write the code (I'm skeptical) but this insistence that knowing anything will be obsolete is a horrible evil lie to tell youngsters. It's not well backed up at all either. Stop reposting this garbage.

For what its worth, i think its garbage as well and just wanted to post it here so more people could say how garbage it is and confirm my confirmation bias :)

I'll pile on with a dose of "people keep overestimating ability of these things". They do a good job at imitating the ramblings of human beings (you are what you eat!) but computer code that needs to do anything more serious than just look plausible in a movie, has to have a depth of understanding behind it that these models utterly lack.

Someone has to multiply your matrices somehow.
