Ask HN: Any progress on controlling the body of a brain-dead human like a robot?

From a technical standpoint there’s probably no value as it would offer no benefit for the insane cost.

From an ethical standpoint probably impossible from the start.

This could be a challenge for neuralink in the future. But it might be very difficult in the first place to find an appropriate controller/interface to control all the muscles of a body and the senses. I'm no expert but I really don't see how it could be done.

Likely to be a lengthy development process. Pithed humans don't stay fresh very long at all.

If they're brain-dead, there's no "they" there to become a member of anything. They'd be as much of a functioning member of society as a car.

There's no "they" (i.e., no subjective experience) but they could behave much like a human if their artificial brain AI is good enough.

At that point, why not put the artificial brain into a robot body?

Because maybe the human body is more capable than the robot body?
