List of Political Parties in China

A useful reminder that inside the bald statements about "Chyna" and "the CCP" there are complex, competing views. If you include unreconstructed Taiwanese kuomintang, and their view about chinese unification there are surprises in plenty for who supports whom.

Most are suppressed but it would be a mistake to ignore the tensions. Bo Xilai did not pop out of nowhere and in the fullness of time Xi Jinping thought will be reconsidered.

I'm told there was a tiny small coterie of western Marxists living in china who persisted post ww2, including trotskyists. Sailors who jumped ship, European Jewish refugees who came in from Dalian out of Japan held territory and stayed. I doubt they were trusted much but perhaps, like Norman Bethune (who is memorialised in the national museum in Tiananmen square) they became both trusted and valued?
