Testing a 1912-style Radio [video]

Making your own capacitors and resistors using paper and wood is a twist I wasn't expecting. I've been working on 1940s-80s tube based stuff... this stretches well before it, and the wide variety of standard discrete components, and tubes in sockets.

Thanks for sharing!

In his previous video on the channel, he makes the vacuum tube too.

Glasslinger is amazing, her videos are fantastic, and she's among the best bench engineers I've ever had the pleasure to watch working.

Here is the video where she makes the tube used in this 1912 radio.

What a delight to experience something this old being put together, and imagine the feeling of glee the first time you actually heard something.

I still remember the smell the first time I touched an out-in-the-open antenna loading coil while transmitting. LOL
