Drawings depicting gladiators among latest discoveries at Pompeii

This story was also posted on CNN [0]. The following quote annoyed to an unreasonably degree:

> They show that even children in ancient times were exposed to extreme violence. “It does not seem to be a problem only of today, between video games and social media,” Gabriel Zuchtriegel said in a statement about the latest discovery.

I get that video games can (but do not have to be) violent but the fact that they mention video games and social media and neglect to mention active shooter drills in US schools, the 24*7 news cycle, other media (movies, tv), etc. makes it sound like Zuchtriegel (the director of the Archaeological Park of Pompeii) has an agenda. I truly believe that people who do not enjoy video games look down on them and gladly use them as fodder when the opportunity arises. Sorry for ranting.
