Ask HN:Why Aren't There More Companies Like Ecosia?

I've recently come across Ecosia, a non-profit search engine that uses its profits to tackle climate change. They focus on reforestation and other environmental initiatives, and they publish monthly financial reports for full transparency on how the money is used.

This got me thinking: why aren't there more companies like Ecosia? Their model seems incredibly impactful and straightforward. Given the current climate crisis and the increasing consumer demand for socially responsible businesses, one would think that more companies would adopt a similar approach.

Is it due to financial viability concerns, lack of awareness, or perhaps something else? What could be the barriers that are preventing more businesses from following in Ecosia's footsteps?
