How does anyone justify buying energy-intensive smart toys (like phones), manufactured in places that burn huge amounts of coal to do so?
I suppose ultimately it comes down to how much a person cares about the negative externalities vs. inconvenience.
A fridge produces about 100 times more energy than a phone.
