Ask HN: Potential Business Model for LLMs: A Netflix-Like Content Platform
I've been thinking about a new business model LLMs and wanted to get your thoughts. The idea is to create a platform similar to Netflix but for LLMs.
Here's how it would work:
Content Creator Sign-Up: Authors, bloggers, and other content creators sign up on the platform. They can either upload their content directly or allow the LLMs to scrape their publicly available content.
Content Integration: The LLM integrates the content from these creators into its training data. The model ensures that the content from various creators is weighted appropriately based on quality, relevance, and user interactions.
Subscription Model: Users pay a monthly subscription fee to access the platform, similar to how they subscribe to Netflix. They get access to a powerful LLM that provides answers, generates content, and assists with various tasks.
Revenue Share: Based on the contribution of each content creator to the LLM's responses and usage, the platform calculates and distributes a share of the subscription revenue to the creators. The more their content is used by the model, the higher their share of the revenue.
Transparency and Analytics: Creators have access to analytics that show how often their content is used and how much revenue they are generating. This encourages high-quality content creation and allows creators to understand their impact on the platform.
This model ensures that content creators are fairly compensated for their contributions while providing users with a robust, well-trained LLM.
