We are failing to build a worthwhile society to live in.
What should we do about that?
Mass immigration plus zoning restrictions and size requirements on housing. The problem isn't complicated.
Seams a bit counter intuitiv. Mass immigration needs more housing. Mind explaining?
Btw. What is zoning restrictions?
There is a labor shortage in the construction industry [0], and most union builders prefer higher budget (and thus higher pay) commercial building projects.
The math here seems straightforward enough. What fraction of immigrants build houses? Of those that do, how many houses do they build? And how many people live in a house? You should be able to estimate whether current policies contribute more to the demand side or to the supply side. And, policy tweaks could have effects on any of those factors.
pirate787 is enumerating what they see as the problems, not what they view as the solution.
The US has had extraordinarily high mass immigration (both legal and illegal) for decades.
Made me think of Brewster McCloud, a truly loco early Robert Altman film. In it, Bud Cort sets up housekeeping in the roof of the Houston Astrodome, where he builds a bird-like flying contraption he hopes to sail down onto the field during a game.
