Brief? Many are still strongly against it, especially doing this very invasive surgery on babies.

It's a fair enough point, it being invasive, but at what point do the benefits outweigh the negatives?

Don't people who loose their hearing generally choose operations to regain it if they can? Who would know better than people who have tried both.
