A Pen Changed the World

Wow, the pen is responsible for literacy.

It wasnt the printing press and then education that got those numbers up?

And that 90 percent literacy rate at the end of the article? Really?

90 percent of men, globally, 82 percent of women... Or 76 percent of adult Americans... Depending on where you look the stats are all over the map.

global data: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_literacy_...

US data: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Literacy_in_the_United_States - OR - US data: https://www.thenationalliteracyinstitute.com/post/literacy-s...

Maybe we should tell the national literacy institute that all they need to do is buy Americans more bic pens...
