A little girl said monsters were in her bedroom. It was 60k bees

I saw this on BBC earlier and I was thinking.. their kid tells them something like that.. and they don't grab a chair and sit in the room with her for a couple of hours when it is sleepytime???? (ps: watch Bluey - Sleepytime - irrelevant but great)

They didn't lay a couple of blankets on the floor and and sleep next to her bed ONE night just to show her that everything will be alright and there is no reason to be worried? She was complaining to them (up to) 8 months? UUUfffff

It is often challenging to understand what is really happening, particularly when people involved aren't seen as reliable. So many three-year-old children say there are a monsters in their room when when they just let their imagination run wild. This child really did see something monstrous from their perspective, the bees weighed over a hundred pounds and the noise would be alien and foreign to such a small child.

Sometimes we just have to gather evidence for ourselves. I am curious why the parents didn't figure this out earlier. If they had asked the child to explain the monster and followed up and even the most cursory way they would have noticed the bees too.

So I'm supposed to prevent things I don't know are there? Who'll be paying for all those redundant checks? If forced to constantly check every part of the house, I sure hope the insurance of theirs was cheap.

The same thing happened to me when I was a child except they were orange wasps and I was twice the little girl's age. I quarantined my bathroom where they were coming from by locking the door all the time -- my family thought I was crazy. One day I woke up and saw that the ceiling had collapsed above the bathtub and a huge mush of dead wasps and honeycomb was spread out at the bottom. Disgusting. Luckily, the damage was light and everything resolved itself from there.
