Turn CC=On. This 2-piece band with Hollywood-quality videos has hundreds of millions of YT views, are banned in Russia, and it is likely that you have never heard of them.

Russia does indeed produce incredible art.

This is what's happening in Europe right now, if any of us could be bothered:

Never heard of? On the contrary, they were on several of my yearly BestOf lists, like in 2018:

Here is a great interview with them. The English subtitles are well done, by humans.

Thank you for posting this.

These two Russian human beings have taken such a big chance. This is an amazing combo of people. The man (Nikolay) has used limited funds to create these tracks and videos, he is a super nerd, the woman (Anastasia) has done the same with her true spirit.

They are banned from Russia, and sadly from many EU countries because they are Russian.

As far as heroism, this is the way.

Context?

This was a protest song, made by Russian artists, over a year prior to the invasion of Ukraine. Artists seem to know these things ahead of military analysts somehow.

The context is that Russian imperialists are currently slaughtering Ukrainians, and not all Russians are happy about this.
