Of course Simon Tatham’s puzzle collection includes this one. He calls it “rectangle”. You can configure the game to leave spaces around the numbers, which increases the difficulty. There’s a web based version here:

If you like these kind of games, there are millions of them at https://puzz.link/db/
There's a typo in the current title: Shiakaku -> Shikaku (Japanese for "square")
Oh, sorry, thanks! Think i rewrote it due to autocorrect three times but apparently I slipped nonetheless!
There’s a game on Apple Arcade called stitch if you want a much larger and more difficult version of this.
You can choose other skill levels for bigger grids
Stitch is much easier than the advanced levels of this one. I would know having spent quite a few hours on stitch trying to get to top 1000. Also stitch had introduced shikakus at some point.
I imagine master will take a couple of hours to complete, so I didn’t even attempt it.
This is great. Reminds me of the "Flow Free" game on the Apple App Store.
Thanks for sharing this, these are great for those 10 minutes break I set for myself between one task and another. Recently someone also shared a "Guess my RGB" game which serves equally well for this purpose
I don't understand how to make a rectangle of size 5.
1 x 5
Wow. I feel very dumb. Thanks for the correction :)
It occurs to me that a decent strategy on the large boards is to look for larger primes, since they are likely to only work one way
A small puzzle game that I find to be a reasonable pastime. Author has also done rabble.se but that is only in Swedish.
Congratulations, this is a great nerd snipe.
How long before someone makes the AI for this?
Typo in title, should be “shikaku” (Japanese for quadrilateral).
