How long do you reckon before someone publishes a tortured explanation about how the eccentricity of the circles gives the first 4 digits of the square root of Euler's number if you measure it in ancient Egyptian cubits or something and therefore aliens?

If you measure the circumference of the circular enclosure and divide it by the diameter, it's a close approximation to pi.

Aliens must have built it. See? I told you.

Only if you adjust for where the stars were in the sky back then.

This clearly looks like a new chevron to be locked.

Perhaps a fort with a couple of additions.

If it were a fort there would be evidence of postholes and other remains of defense fortifications. There's a decent amount of fortified sites known from the neolithic, so I assume it would've been ruled out quickly. They also tended to build forts on hills and this structure is on flat ground and the "monument" looks quite small for defense.

The article seems to allude to it having some sort of funeral practices

The later structures are suggested to be funerary. The oldest one (with the lobes) is unknown. From the aerial photo, it seems they haven't dug the interior.

They mention a gravel layer in the ditch which suggests a palisade. I'm not quite sure how they get there (I don't see the actual report), but presumably they have some basis. As a fenced enclosure, it seems to small for livestock, but perhaps a fortified homestead.

Forms are unique but seem pretty organic and self emergent. From my limited understanding, I would never make a fuss of it.

It's clearly a picture of a mouse with a missing front leg.

Or possibly some sort of as yet undiscovered stupid bird.
