People are bailing on Safari after DMA makes changing defaults easier

I don't believe Apple is just going the loss quietly. I wonder what's the next gross anti-competitive idea they'll come up with to rollback things to what they were before DMA.

This is a dumb question, but is there a way for folks outside the EU to register an iOS device as if it was in a eurozone country? Is a VPN enough?

Are these browsers still required to use Safari behind the scenes?

I tried using the Aloha browser which was mentioned in the article. It mentions some nice features Safari doesn’t have like Adblock and a VPN built in.

I was not impressed. Strike one was their new tab page has Microsoft ads. I could turn that off in settings but I thought that was what Adblock was for?

Strike 2 is YouTube also showing ads before videos. Again, where is this Adblock?
