Ask HN: Are there problems with scientific consensus due to Anthropocene trends?

Lately, it has been common for some people to dismiss the emergence of any global problems, saying that "your sources simply came out of the scientific consensus", or even "the scientific consensus has gone crazy due to scientists' misconceptions about climate change and plastic pollution".

Are there ways to maintain confidence that these problems are real? Considering that this is not really my scientific field.
