History Is More Like Science Fiction Than Fantasy

The stories people tell each other, on the other hand, have historically been more like fantasy than science fiction.

What would be on the gripping hand?

(I wonder if this would place science fiction in the "comedy" camp, in that comedies often revolve around people who believe they're special running into the same old problems that beset us all?)
