Show HN: Detonator2D a 2D game engine and editor

Ever since I was a kid and I had my Atari ST with me I wanted to create some games for it. Unfortunately nobody in my family was able to help me out and I never pursued that dream any further...
Years later I was working on a tiny educational game to help me learn (memorize) some Chinese language characters. That initially tiny project grew and grew and ultimately it started turning into something larger.
Now years later that little infotainment game is gone and what stands in its place is a complete 2D game engine and editor.
Something I've been hammering away nearly half a decade now.
I guess I'm now doing what I wanted to do as a kid although It feels like I'm spending more time writing the tools rather than the games.
That being said, I present to you: DETONATOR 2D. A 2D game engine and editor for Linux and Windows.
The project is still not obviously finished and there's a lot of features that I'm still wanting to get in. That being said the scope is clear, simple single player 2D games.
Even though this is a "hobby" project I'm rather serious about it and the development is as pro and product oriented as possible. I'm realistic enough to know that pushing a new engine is very hard these days since the market is super saturated but I think it's still possible to find some use beyond my own.
Anyway, more details in the GitHub, check it out and happy to have any feedback, suggestions or comments.
