Dear San Francisco – Please return my property in accordance with Victims Rights

Maybe the City of San Francisco or State of California will actually give me my leather jacket back if I post about it publicly. Just hoping that the Victim's Right to the prompt return of property might be upheld, now that it's more than 6 months past any reasonable definition of prompt.

Also shows the need for drastically more efficient government. Upvote if you think rights should actually have meaning.

I don't think they care. SF has always been a strange city but the past 10 years it feels like there has been some kind of top down political experiment happening that maximizes the amount of chaos, like more homeless people, more crime, etc.

I had a serious verbal threat happen to me which I reported to the PD, and the officer there didn't give a damn about it, I could see it in her face. Multiple times I feared for my life and I honestly had zero confidence in SFPD doing anything about it, so I had to move away, I can't live in a city like that, especially when I can't even defend myself (even with my own hands, I would face jail time if I hurt one of their precious "unhoused" people).

Hopefully you get it back, and the city starts improving but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Can you, assuming the value of your property is low enough, go through small claims court?
