The way these aid workers were attacked despite their movements being previously coordinated with the IDF is reminiscent of the modus operandi back when the 6-year-old Hind Rajab was killed. In that occasion she was the sole survivor after her family vehicle was hit by tank fire. Red crescent coordinated her rescue with the IDF, which greenlighted the dispatch of an ambulance, just to attack it on arrival. Weeks later the ambulance was found destroyed and the paramedics dead, hit by a tank, near the bodies of the girl and her family. See:

war is a cluster fuck. Mistakes will be made, and you will never know if it was intentional or not, this is why there is the word "collaterals".

During WWII, many germans were not nazis. But they got allies bombs on their heads too, because nazis were in charge and way too dangerous for the allies.

war is an abomination. expecting "rules" or perfect targetting is just a fantasy, extremely dangerous fantasy.

These strikes bear all the hallmarks of intentional targeting. The IDF isn’t even claiming (for now) that the strikes weren’t intentional, shifting the blame on an unnamed commander[1].

No, I think it is far more likely that Israel is using starvation as a weapon. There is a looming famine in Norther Gaza, Israel is under orders from the ICJ to allow aid to flow to Gaza, but hasn’t complied. These aid workers were getting aid into Gaza, this is against Israel’s strategy of starving Palestinians, so they targeted the aid workers. Eliminating both them, and sending a message to other aid workers that if they try and help starving Palestinians, they might be targeted and killed.

You will never know if it was intentional or not, unless the IDF wants to admit it.

And as I said, expecting "rules" or "0-collaterals" in a war is an extremely dangerous fantasy.

Oh yes. It is not a fantasy. The rules of engagement with prisoners of war, unarmed civilians, dead people, aid workers, journalists, medics are codified and is expected in wars. But this particular state, is given a free hand to do anything it wishes. It is not bound by a constitution, rather the whims of a conveniently placed group of people.

And please, this is no collateral, it is happened to a group of people who informed and coordinated with the occupying force.
