CDK. The author is basically describing the AWS CDK.

And you can have my CDK when you take it from my cold, dead hands. Game changer as far as I'm concerned.

CloudFormation templates were a diagnostic nightmare. You tested by deploying, and verifying correctness was an exercise in frustration and futility. It was like coding in assembly language. A potentially very very expensive assembly language.

The CDK is like the first generation of compiled languages. (Relative) Type safety, loops, coherent structure. Long live the CDK!
