Show HN: Ngrok Alternative Without Subscription
localcan.com
Just seven months ago, I posted the LocalCan app here, which got a lot of comments and attention. Its focus was solely on local development. This tiny app allowed to publish .local domains on the local network, with automatic HTTPS. See the original post here: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=36954998
Fast forward to today, the app has pivoted to become the Ngrok alternative without subscription, featuring a completely new infrastructure for creating and managing Public URLs (SSH tunnels) in various forms.
What it allows now:
- Create Public URLs on *.localcan.dev or Cloudflare
- Use your custom domains
- Inspect traffic, replay request, test webhooks, OAuth and more.
- Local domains (.local) are still available for convenience
See how it compares with ngrok: https://www.localcan.com/ngrok-alternative
Would love to hear your feedback about what more would you like to see in the app ;)
