wtf I am from England an I made sure to visit the Okefenokee on my way down to Florida. It was literally the most amazing ecosystem I ahve ever seen. Swamp trees with that amazing lichen, crocodiles meters long, an untouched ecosystem from seemingly a millenia ago.

You americans must protect it.

Conversely, most global production of Titanium Dioxide (a key component in optics applications like lasers and IC applications like thin film) is almost entirely monopolized by Chinese producers.

This conundrum really shows the issue with the news - you can argue one way or the other and frame a story that way.

(Personally, I think we should protect the Okefenokee)

there arent many okefenokees m8.

maybe we should just get along with the chinese ( im not into politics tho )

EDIT> just add something useful to the convo, the USA has more diversity in a couple miles of ecosystem than most of europe has to offer. Europe is very very bland compared to the US I really think whoever makes decisions on these things atleast spends a few months in the barren boring lands in most of Europe.

Seems archive.is is down right now :(

Much appreciated though

Do you use cloudflare dns? That'll prevent it from working.

Just checked my pihole settings and I was indeed using Cloudflare as a secondary DNS provider. Thanks.

I am hoping everyone who reads this makes a point of contacting folks who might be able to protect this swamp, and also let a few more people know.
