Hey HN! I'm luhard and I'm excited to introduce HeyDM.me, a service that allows creators, influencers, and anyone with an online presence to monetize their audience through paid DMs via personal links.

With HeyDM.me, users can create their own unique link (e.g., heydm.me/@username) and set a price for others to send them a direct message (for nowm we've set it at $8.99 per message). There is absolutely no subscription fees for the link creator. We only take a small transaction fee, ensuring that creators can't lose money by using our service.

I think that this can be a great way for creators to engage with their most dedicated fans, offer personalized advice or feedback, or simply connect with their audience on a more intimate level. We handle all the payment processing and link management, so creators can focus on what they do best.

I have another idea. A proof of work mechanism whereby to send the DM you need to run some expensive WebGL task for ten minutes. Removes the payment barrier and also spam.

interesting, i actually put a charge on the DM to incentivize users to create their own link. Do you have any ideas on using the power of the customer's device as a system to bring some benefits to the link owner?
