RIP. When I was a preteen, I was offered his 1998 CD featuring Beethoven's piano sonatas op. 22, op. 26, and op. Waldstein. I listened to it hundreds of times. That's when my love for piano music began.
I first heard him on his 1999 CD of Debussy's Preludes Bk 1, which first made me notice and eventually fall in love with the sonority of the piano.
A pity I didn't try hard enough to catch him perform live some time. RIP.
