Mars unsafe for humans to live, no one can survive for longer than 4 years

This was covered in the 1990 science fiction action movie Total Recall, was it not?

VC funding led by Cohaagen however is in a race to find and incapacitate the terraforming reactor in order to keep people in perpetuity paying for apps to escape their current lives.

Article lacks details. We already know radiation is a huge problem on Mars. Does the research take into account the popular idea of using Martian soil to build thick bunkers?

If technological progress doesn't end somehow (due to some catastrophe on Earth), then it's only a matter of time before humans land on Mars and (later on) figure out how to live there long-term.

Eg. underground dwellings are a thing.

Surprising. It's almost as if there isn't a planet B.

So we rotate every two years. I’m sure with time we can build sealed off underground chambers that will provide the necessary shielding.

4 years - you couldn't survive 10 minutes.

Unless you were prepared for the environment.
